Not so much of a lazy Sunday here.....

Okay, so my whole plan today WAS to have a lazy do nothing kind of day. But since yesterday was definitely a lazy do nothing kind of day, all of those things that should have been done yesterday, HAS to be done today. Bummer. I seriously need to find those cleaning fairies, capture them, and only let them out to clean my house.

Here are some more cards that I made last night. I could get very addicted to making cards...okay, I am already addicted. But I have discovered that I don't have very many sentiment stamps. I suppose I will have to start using some doodles on them. But stamping is sooo much easier and doesn't leave my hand cramping. Hmmm, I might have to hit Hobby Lobby this week, they are having a 50% off sale on all of their stamps.

Well, I suppose I have put off dusting long enough!

I am having a productive day....

This morning we were up way too early. Chris had to take the truck in for some maintenance. I should have gone back to bed, but decided to enjoy the quiet and get some projects done. I have been pretty productive today. If you could see me, you would say..."yep, so productive that you forgot to get out of your jammies and take a shower!" What can I say, it's not like I was going anywhere today...I did the whole maniac on a mission yesterday! LOL!!!

Holy Monkey.....it's been 4 whole years....

....We have made it 4 years without him locking me up in the looney house! Man, he has the patience of a saint! I love you Chris!
. So to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary we took a 1/2 day off work and went grocery shopping! Jealous huh? I am a lucky gal!!! We ran through Sam's Warehouse like to maniacs on a mission, came home unloaded, then headed to WalMart and repeated the whole maniacs on a mission thing. I am wiped out!

Actually, we have plans for tomorrow. Nope, we are not going out to dinner, nope, we are not going out to the movies...we are doing something that we love to do....we are going to cook a nice dinner (okay, we hate to cook) of ribs, potato salad, corn and rolls. Then we are going to pile up on the couch and watch a movie...and then....okay, never mind...I won't go there....just use your imagination...better yet, don't use your imagination...channel my imagination! LOL!!!!

Apparently I have many addictions.....

....I am addicted to collecting cool software. Now that doesn't mean that I actually am an expert at using said software, I just collect it. LOL!! One of my favorite softwares out there in software land right now is Microsoft OneNote. I have been using it for about 4 years. I discovered it when I was in college and started using it. However, the version I used was the first and still had a long way to go. A while back I upgraded to the newest version and have been using it for many projects.

Like the name of the software indicates, it's an electronic notebook of sorts. I have created 5 different notesbooks so far with various tabs within each notebook. You can cut and paste from any program or website. And what is cool about cuting/pasting from a website, it automatically creates a hyperlink in OneNote to the site you c/p from. That is a totally cool feature, since I don't have to copy the link after the c/p and can go right to the site if I need additional information later on.

My scrapbook notebook is full of my favorite layouts from all over the web, various different sketches from many different places and cards. This method of organizing little bits and pieces from all over is a much better method than creating a folder and saving. Also, you can use an electronic pen to make notes...or if you don't have an electronic pen, you can still make notes with a text box. Super cool!!! Can't do that in the standard computer folder...well if you can, I hadn't ever figured it out. Microsoft is offering a 60 day free trial, so go check it out.

Check out my little blogging helpers. Now if they would just learn how to type!

Okay, before any of you say "But I thought you weren't going to get close to the new kittens", I just want to say ..... I used my 300mm lens to get this shot of two of the new kittens. So there was sufficient distance between me and the cute little guys and there was no touching involved.....
But aren't they the cutest?!! No, they are not coming into my house, so all yall stop placing your bets! It ain't happening! Swear! Girl Scouts honor!!!!

They always say......

...that the first step is admitting to the addiction.

Hello everyone, my name is Tam and I am a Google Reader addict! How many of you use Google Reader? I finally decided to use Google Reader when my blog bookmarks was getting way out of control. So now I just subscribe to the blogs through Google Reader and now I only have to go to one site to check on all of my favorite blogs. Currently I am subscribing to 123 blogs. I know that is probably not a bunch to some people, but it's a lot for me. I typically add 2 to 5 blogs every week. And guess what? I actually do read each of the blogs when they are updated.

Another cool thing about Google Reader, you can share with friends. How cool is that? You can leave comments to each other about a blog on the share list. Cool huh?

Chris got camera happy yesterday evening. I was minding my own business doodling and he starts taking pictures. Man look at those legs! I do believe they need some sun!! What am I talking about, those legs hasn't seen the light of day in 5 years!
Peanut Butter was helping me Doodle. Just before Chris took that picture, I had Nibby and Peanut Butter helping me.

Here is my latest doodle. I love this quote by Emerson.

What a long day!!

Man, what a long day! This week, even though it's a short work week, I have a feeling it's going to be a long week. Funny how it works that way!

I made this card yesterday evening. I love how it turned out. I have forgotten just how fun making cards can be. I have tons of scraps, so I am thinking that there will be a lot of card making in my future!

I don't have pictures...yet, but we have a new addition to our zoo. Actually, we have three new additions to our zoo. Not our indoor zoo, but our outdoor zoo. Momma Cat, a solid black stray who adopted us several months ago has three iddy bitty kittens. They are currently residing under our A/C unit. I have seen two of them, Chris has seen all three. They are starting to venture out, but not far from the A/C unit. It won't be long before they will be on our front porch eating with the rest of the zoo. I refuse to touch them, I forbid Chris to touch them and I certainly have put my foot down that they will not come into our house! The Three Stoogettes are enough!

However, once they start venturing out more, I will try to get a picture of them. They are all solid black and one has white paws. Hoppy is definitely the daddy (another stray who has adopted us).

Something funny happened Sunday night. Chris and I were outside on the front porch. Something caught Chris' attention. It was a baby skunk and he was coming up on the front porch with us. Chris dang near ran me over getting away from the skunk. Once the skunk realized that he was not alone, he back tracked very quickly. You would think between the big freaking racoons and baby skunks, that we live out in the woods. Nope, we live in the middle of town. Apparently, word has gotten out in the animal world that there is food at the pink festive house on Maple! LOL!!

Happy Memorial Day.....

Happy Memorial Day! Don't forget to kiss a Veteran or a Soldier today!!!

I am sitting here at my computer. I have Saving Private Ryan playing. I am not sure why I watch this movie every year on Memorial Day. It always makes me cry. As a matter of fact, the opening scene makes me cry. When the old man is walking through Arlington National Cemetary and he falls to his knees crying...that is exactly when the tears start flowing and we are only 2 minutes into the movie! I can't even begin to tell you the crying I do during the 30 minutes of mass chaos as they are storming the beaches at Normandy. It gets me to thinking about my Grandpa Spencer, who served in Europe and my Grandpa Leo who served in the Philipeans during WWII. I can't even imagine what it was like for them. I can't imagine what it is like for anyone who has served during war. I am so proud to be an American and so very proud of each an every Veteran and Soldier!

Well, by the looks of this stack, I need to get off my very large tookus and get these layouts in albums. But then again, they are out of site, so they will more than likely stay out of mind. LOL!!!

I finally scrapped those pictures of our first 5K.
.

Here is a card I made this morning. I had to use some of the new K&Company paper I got a few weeks ago. I love the vintage style!

I used the new Basic Grey Lime Ricky paper. I also used some pages from the Urban Prairie collection. They go so well together!
.

I collected several cards I have made for the Cards for Heros. I made a special one with a letter to a Hero. I forgot to take a picture of it before I sealed up the box of cards. My prayer is that every special card/letter puts a smile on a soldiers face and lets them know that there are so many people who are thinking of them, praying for them and awaiting their safe return!
Happy Memorial Day!

Off and running.....

I hope that everyone is having a great start to their Memorial Day weekend! We are off and running today. The Tulsa Expo Center is having a huge flea market, so we are going to go check it out. On my hit list is wire baskets, vintage letters and if I am lucky, a set of old lockers (but I am not going to hold my breath on that one). It is a gorgeous day outside and I hope that the rain doesn't come our way.

It's been a while since I have posted a picture of one of our zoo members. I caught this picture the other evening. Widdles was lounging on Chris while he was surfing the internet on the laptop. Look at those eyes. I swear she always looks surprised!

Here is my latest doodle. I love this quote from Kermit the Frog. I am not real happy with the colors, but unfortunately, I can't change them without really messing it up.

I started this mini album last weekend and finished it up last night. I apologize for the dark pictures, I am still having issues with my printed pictures. One of these days I will get it all figured out!
The transparancy embellishements I made with a sheet of transparancy, stamps and stickles. I think they turned out really well. However, when I glued them on the Bazzil cardstock you can see the glue, unlike the ones glued to the Basic Grey paper. I will have to remember that the next time I make some and use.

This weekend I am going to make some cards for the Cards for Heros. I am not sure if I will get 25 made, but I am going to give it my best effort. Why don't you join me!!! Check out the site linked above! Make a soldiers day!!!
