Reasons Why I HATE Summer.....Number 521

521. Electric Bills!!!!

Okay, I know and you know that I hate to be hot. I hate sweating, even though I sweat in the dead of winter (sooooo lady like)..but $324 electric bill?!! Seriously!!! What the heck! My house wasn't that cool!!

Yes, my house is 105 years old. Yes, the windows are 105 years old....BUT $324!! Holy Monkey!!!!

I think getting new windows is going to have to move to the priority list soon!!! *Sigh*

Is it Fall yet?

Creating Yourself....

It always makes me chuckle when I hear someone say "I need to find myself". What? I didn't know you were lost. *Snort* Okay, corny I know, but I can't help it. But it does make me chuckle when I hear it. I love this quote on the card below. I honestly believe that life is about creating yourself. And trust me, I would love to create myself right into a size 7!

Any who, here are some more cards that I have made. I am totally digging the machine stitching. You never know, I might just go a little crazy and increase the size of the zig zag! Woooo, I am all about living dangerously and taking chances! LOL!!

Have a great Wednesday! It's almost the weekend!!!

Whew! What a day!

Man, I am glad today is almost over! I had one of "those" days! It started with the alarm clock this morning....it went off! I knew at that moment that today was not going to be a good day! Why? Well, two reasons....(1) it's Monday, and I am 100% anti-Monday! (2) I didn't get enough sleep last night .... and it's Monday...you get the picture!

Once I got to work, I thought "okay, I am here, coffee is brewing, I will make the best of my day!" Hrph! So much for that thought. I kid you not, I think everything I touched either broke or I dropped. Every word I spoke was either at a pitch only dogs could hear or I was speaking in a foreign language, because no one was hearing me or they couldn't understand a thing that was coming out of my mouth! I am betting that they were hearing me, just ignoring me.

All I wanted to do is go home and go back to bed.

So now I am home, ate me some dinner and I am seriously thinking about curling up on the couch and doing nothing! Yep, I think that is a good plan!

Tomorrow will be a better day!

Here is another card I made. I love this quote, I always have. I think it's time to start blazing my own trail again. The one I am on is getting way too predictable...and I hate predictability!

I always hate to see the weekend coming to an end!

The Home and Garden Expo was a great. I got lots of ideas and loads of information that I am still trying to sort through. The main project that is currently at the top of our list is replacing all of our windows. Apparently, they are the original windows, so that makes them 105 years old. I am thinking that they are not energy star rated! LOL! I shudder to think what the quote on new windows are going to be, we only have 15 of them. *sigh*

I did work in the project room for a little while yesterday. Here is one of the cards I made. I finally got to play with some of the new Unity Stamps I got in the mail last week.

Today is chore day. I have tons of laundry to do, grocery shopping, you know the boring stuff!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Happy Saturday!!!

Good morning bloggers!! It's a beautiful morning here in Oklahoma, but that won't last long! It's going to be a hot one today.

Chris and I are up and ready to tackle the day. We are going to be heading out to the Tulsa Home and Garden Expo today. I am excited. I have never been to the show. Chris and I have been gathering different ideas for decorating out house. In fact, I have got the bug to completely redo our kitchen. Sadly, that won't happen for a few years. My ideas are much larger than my budget! But it's good to go and get more ideas and dream!

I did get some cards made last night. Here is one that I did. I am starting to finally use my sewing machine and really enjoying it. Maybe one of these days I can move beyond sewing one line! LOL!

Have a fantastic day!

What day is it?

I seriously have my days all mixed up this week. I stayed home on Monday from work because I was not feeling really good and I slept most of that day. So I have been a day behind. Well on the way home, I had it in my head that tomorrow was Friday, so now I am a day ahead! It is really making my head spin!

I haven't gotten to get in the project room any this week...and I am very sad about this. I have two new sets of Unity Stamps and some new Spellbinder dies to play with. *Sigh* I won't get a chance to play until probably Friday evening. Which is a complete bummer!!

Okay, as most of you know CHA is coming up and there have been a butt load of peeks popping up all over the scrapbooking world. Anyone got any absolute favorites yet? So far I haven't seen anything that has completely knocked my socks off, but I am liking some of the new Pink Paislee stuff, mainly Misteltoe & Co!

Update on Huey, Duey and Louey....they are growing and they still don't like us at all! However, they are getting use to us being around. In fact, Huey (pictured below with his daddy, Hoppy) has allowed us to touch him..her..not sure.

Matthew is doing great in Alaska. He has a lot of things going on. For starters, he is now the drummer of a band who's name I don't remember (yeah, I know...I am awful!), he is working nights, and he is training for a 50K that is coming up in September and he is planning on running 133 miles next year. Whew! Every time he calls, I get tired just trying to catch up on what he is doing! He is one busy guy!!!

A computery internety geeky kind of a question....

I am in a delimma. I am not happy with Internet Explorer, so I downloaded Google Chrome and Firefox. I like them both much better than IE. However, I am finding that there are some sites that Firefox times out on and won't open, as with Google Chrome, which makes me have to use IE. Grrrrrrr.

Why am I bouncing around with different internet browers? Well it all started with this article and youtube video from Google introducing Google Wave.... Now I am sure that once they roll this little piece of communication heaven out, it will work with IE...that's beside the point...I don't like IE, just been tolerating it. I don't mean to offend any IE lovers out there, IE is just not for me.

So my question to all of you out there in internet/blogging land, what internet browers are you using? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Do you have any recommendations of add ons, plug ins, etc.?

I found this little gem of an article on one of the blogs I follow...(I love The How To Geek)..I think I may give this a whirl this evening.

I look foward your comments and recommendations....just as long as you don't post hysteric laughing at my geeky-wanna-be state of being! LOL!!!

Revolution OUT....Cuttlebug IN.....

I hate limitations and my Revolution was full of limitations. I have started collecting Spellbinder Nestabilities (I have a total to two sets! I soooo need some more!)...Love them...however, some of the larger dies wouldn't fit in the Revolution. Also, I have been using Cuttlebug embossing folders and again.....LIMITATIONS!!! Uggggggggghhhhh!

So what's a limitation hating girl to do? Take herself down to the local Michael's armed with a 50% coupon and buy a Cuttlebug, eliminating those limitations!!! Now if that only worked on my other 150 trillion limitations I would be printing off more of those coupons! I just don't think a 50% coupon at Michael's will eliminate the limitations of my brain!

Okay, yesterday was spent almost entirely in the project room (except during that little trip to Michael's). I had one huge mess going on!

This is what I accomplished! 5 designs and 10 cards! I was working on a custom card order for a sweet friend of mine. I emailed her the pics this morning and she loves them! Whew!!! Now just to pack them up and get them shipped off to her!

I did make some other cards too, but I haven't taken any pictures yet. I will get that done and post them tomorrow!!!

Fell off the face of the earth....

Well, actually I didn't fall of the face of the earth, just off the blogging earth. Getting back in the swing of things at work has left me exhausted in the evenings. Too exhausted to even blog.

But never fear, I will be back on Sunday with a brand new post and probably some cards to show everyone!!!

Until then......have a great rest of the week!

It's Hot here!

According to weather.com, it is 100 degrees but feels like 108 degrees! OMG! Hello, what is this? The third ring of hell? Seriously, is summers getting hotter or am I just getting older? Never mind, don't answer that....I know, I am getting older.

I know that I am crazy, but no matter how hot it is outside, I still like my coffee in the evenings. I just don't enjoy drinking it on the front porch like I do during the milder times of the year...like when it's 20 degrees outside!
.

Please Winter, get here soon!!!!

My last day of vacation.....

All good things must come to an end...tomorrow I will be back at work. You know, I could really get use to being a stay at home wife!

Yesterday's yard sale was a success! We made over $400 in 4 hours! Very little was left when we shut the sale down at 11 am. We are completely thrilled! Not only did we accomplish cleaning and organzing everything in our house and storage, we got rid of a lot of stuff and made a little cash too!!! However, it will be several YEARS before I attempt another yard sale, especially in the summer months! Yesterday was a brutal hot hot day!

The past few nights I haven't been sleeping very well. Honestly, it's because of the naps. I don't take short naps, I take epic naps, 4 and 5 hour naps. No wonder I can't sleep at night. Monday morning is going to be painful!

Here are a few birthday cards I made during my "oh why can't I sleep" hours of the night. Don't be too brual on me, a couple of these were made during the wee wee hours of the morning!

Big Freaking Braizen Raccoon......

If you have been reading my blog for a while or know me on various scrapbooking message boards, then you know that not only do I have a zoo in my house, I have a zoo around my house. A zoo that includes cats, skunks, oppossums, and racoons.

Well this guy has pretty well gotten over the fact that we are outside on our front porch a lot. I guess he realizes that we won't mess with him period. When it gets dark and he is ready to eat, it doesn't matter if we are standing in his way, he just mozies on up the porch, keeping one eye on us and the other on the cat food.

I took these pictures standing only about 5 feet from him. Trust me, I was not going to get any closer.

Baby, one of our many outside cats was not happy that he was eating her food. She is just outside the shot. The raccoon was not happy being fussed at by this rather large cat with an attitude.

Operation Clean Sweep Day 4

We are slowly moving along with OCS! The only thing left now is the kitchen. Thank goodness there is not much I want to part with in the kitchen!

With all of this organizing and cleaning, I forgot to post some cards I made last week.

So here they are.....

Operation Clean Sweep Day 3

Even though we sorta took a break today from Operation Clean Sweep, we had another huge project that we wanted to get done. And really, since there was a lot of cleaning involved in this project, I am thinking that this project still falls until OCS!!!

This wall has been driving me crazy for a few weeks. We use to have a tall cabinet hutch thingy that sat on this wall. Well, that cabinet hutch thingy got moved to our front entrance and the red desk was moved in it's place. Well, the blank wall was not going to do. And those two lonely and not very balanced pictures was not going to cut it either.

Quite boring wouldn't you say? You can say it, it won't hurt my feelings. It's very boring!

I wrangled Chris into helping me with my project. Actually, I didn't have to wrangle, there is no way he would leave me on my own with a hammer, nails, drill and ladder...gawd knows what the wall would look like if he did. Truth be known, I am pretty handy with the hammer, nails, drill and ladder...It's paint that I am not so good with...no patience with that whole cutting in thing.

Nibby pitched in to help too. It's a shame she can't wield a hammer since Chris hates getting on a ladder.

Funny thing though, we had to rescue Nibby from the top of the ladder. She had no idea on how to get down other than jumping. She is such the brave adventurer!

Here is the after....Not so boring now. I still have tons of picture frames to hang, just have to find another wall to hang them.

Eventually, the red desk will become a black desk. But that's a whole 'nuther project another day!

Operation Clean Sweep Day 2

Day 2 went very well. We accomplished a lot. Three closets and two rooms were cleaned and organized! I even attacked the dreaded buffet. It is now emptied out! I can't believe just how much stuff was in there!!!

Of coarse, the Stoogettes helped makes sure every knook and crannie was empty!

Not all of this stuff came out of the buffet. This is just from two closets and the buffet. I have more tubs full of stuff in the guest room. Looks like our garage sale is going to have a bunch of stuff!!!

Today we are going to take a break from Operation Clean Sweep. However, I am working on another project and will hopefully have pictures for you tomorrow!

Operation Clean Sweep......

The dreaded storage shed. Don't let this picture fool you, there are two lofts in this beast and they are crammed full of stuff. One whole side is nothing but Christmas stuff!

Empty totes that will soon be filled up with stuff from the house! And see that pedastal sink? One of these days it will be going into the guest bathroom!!!

Keep pile! I can never part with good shelving!!!

Sale pile (so far)!

Tomorrow it's the kitchen and three closets on the hit list!!!!
