Some Nerve!

These three people have no problem eating in front of me. Do they not realize that I AM HUNGRY! Grrrrr. And then, my wonderful husband had the nerve to ask me to bring him a bowl of crackers! CRACKERS! You have got to be kidding me! You want CRACKERS! I will give you crackers!!!

My parents came in yesterday to be here while I have surgery and help out Chris when I come home. At least they don't ask me for crackers! But dad does like to give me a play by play of how good his ice cream sandwich and roast beef sandwich tastes! I will get even!!!

Here are a couple of doodles I did last night and today. I am so ready for this surgery to get done and over with. The wait is killing me! And the fact that I can only have jello and fluids today is not making it any easier!! Grrrrrrr.

Since I am going to be out tomorrow and probably a couple of more days I will be scheduling some posts. I have loads of cards I made this weekend to show you!

Forgotten scrapping stuff

I was rooting through some of my stash this morning and came across some MME frames.  You remember those? They were frames with little cards in the middle with stuff like “Son, Beauty, Outdoors, Adventure” etc.  I had bought a set from QVC back 100 years ago when I started scrapping and really never used them.  Well, I pulled some out and made these two cards.

TAM_2069

I think that I will be incorporating these frames in many more cards in my future.

There is so much more of those forgotten scrapping stuff that I came across. I am going to have to figure out how to incorporate those things as well.

Dust off those forgotten scrapping stuff and get them on some cards, layouts or mini albums.  Give them a new life!

I doodled today…..

It’s been a while since I have sat down and worked on some doodles.  So this evening I sat down with a dictionary page and doodled.  Actually, you should see how many waded up pages littered the living room.  At least the cats enjoyed my creative process.

Here is a clipboard memo board I made today.

Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day!  So much to do!  Chris will be home from the Sheaffer Men’s campout sometime in the early afternoon and my parents will be here sometime in the late afternoon. I will have loads of laundry to do and all that fun stuff!

I am starting to get a bit nervous about my surgery scheduled for Tuesday.  Well nervous is really not the right word, maybe anxious.  Waiting around sucks. I am ready to get it done and over with so I can get home and start recovering.  I am not a very patient person!

Crazy Crazy Cat

She just loves hanging out at the top of my closet! Crazy Crazy Cat! You would think that if they climb up that high that they can figure out how to climb back down! But no, once she got up there and she realized that she couldn’t get down (or decided she was too lazy to get down) she cried and cried and cried until I finally went into my closet to see what the deal was!

You know it’s pretty sad when you have to rescue a cat from the top shelf of your closet! Maybe what is sadder is that I realized that Nibby has me completely trained to come when she calls!

A handmade book….(picture heavy)

This weekend I started working on making this handmade book.  I took 80 lb art paper and made the signatures for the book.  I used plain ol’ everyday embroidery floss to sew the pages together.  The front and back cover is actually a post board file folder with the expandable spine.  I love to repurpose and recycle stuff.

TAM_1753

I used scraps of K&Company, Collage Press, Prima and Webster Pages paper, 7Gypsies journaling cards, key envelopes, small file folders, small shipping tags, MME, Jenni Bowlin, Making Memories, Unity Stamps, and some chipboard.  There is no bling, buttons or ribbon on any of the pages.  I will probably add some later, after I add journaling to the pages.  I haven’t decided if I am going to add any pictures.  I might use this as a “turning 40” reflections journal.  Okay , who am I kidding, me reflect on anything…yeah right! I am sure I will find something to write in it, which is why this book only has 12 pages…short and sweet!

Holy Stinky Visitor Batman!!!!

Sunday night, Chris and I were getting ready for bed.  Widdles must have heard something at the window because she was trying to get up under the blind to see something.  I pulled the blinds up and low and behold there was a stinky visitor was on our front porch, directly below our window.  We watched for a few seconds and here come another stinky visitor.  Two small, but very lethal stinky visitors came to eat!

Chris and I tried to get pictures through the window, but it just wasn’t happening.  So I, very bravely, stepped out the front door to snap some pictures.  Chris stood watch, from a safe distance…he was watching from our bedroom window.  I was able to snap these shots.  I have a few more, but they were not very good. In fact, they were all from the business end of the stinky visitor, and well, I just don’t think anyone is really interested in the business end of a skunk, in person or in pictures.

Check out those dang teeth!!!! And no, I was not that close to this stinky guy…thank goodness for a zoom lens!

You know, this little stinky guy is kind of cute, until I look at those teeth! Oh, and that whole stinky thing they got going on!

What a fun weekend…

Okay, Saturday was fun…today, well it’s just another Sunday doing chores.  But back to my fun Saturday.

My sweet friend Martha, picked me up at 10:00 am-ish, and we headed to the CK Convention in Tulsa. It was very crowded.  I saw Vicki Chrisman at the Tattered Angels booth.  That was one very popular booth.  There was loads of great deals.  I went on a strict budget…did I keep to my budget…..Do you really have to ask me that question?  When you find Spellbinder dies $10 less than you can get them anywhere else, then NOOOOOOOOOO, I didn’t stick to my budget.

Here is a picture of the goodies I acquired.

This morning, I was cleaning around the house and went to pick up my laptop bag.  It was rather heavy….

It’s now 3pm, and all of my chores are complete.  Well except for a couple more loads of laundry.  I think this evening it’s going to be snuggle time with Chris and a movie!

Today was just another day….

There was no freak tripping accidents, no comic relief for the grounds crew, all was quiet at work…which is a good thing!

But I did have a great mail day! I got me some new geeky computer books and another book to read while I am recovering. I have the documentary on DVD of One Day In September, but wanted the book, since there is so much they left out of the documentary.

Here are the last two cards that I made this past weekend.

Back in Business

I got a new Blackberry! I am back in business. Now work can once again reach me while I am away from the office. Not really sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing!

To clear a couple of things up about that Freak Tripping Accident yesterday, Diana, I was NOT in a dress! Thank goodness, and the Blackberry is something I carry for work, so it’s technically not mine and property of The NORDAM Group. So they replaced it. Apparently, how my blackberry was destroyed is added to a long list of very interesting “How I broke my Blackberry”stories. Thank goodness this is the only one I have ever broke! Oh well, it was time for an upgrade. I had that one for over 4 years.

Check it out…one of my cards was selected as a featured card ---------> SNR

That was a sweet surprise! I needed a good pick me up!

Oh man, what a day….

I broke my Blackberry. Here is an excerpt from the help desk ticket to the IT department.

“I need a new blackberry to replace my current one. It met the pavement in a freak tripping accident. It did not survive”…

Okay, here is what happened. I was hurrying across the parking lot, when I crossed the bridge to the other parking lot where I was parked, apparently my body lost the memory of walking. I tripped. Not sure what I tripped on, could have been a crack, could have been my big feet, heck it could have been my shadow…I don’t know. What I do know is that my purse went flying, when it crashed to the ground scattering all my contents, my blackberry was airborne. It came crashing down. You know, it doesn’t bounce very well. Did I trip and fall. Noooo, I resembled a new born giraffe trying to regain my balance. And I think, I am not completely certain, but I think that in my quest to find balance I stepped on my blackberry. But like I said, I can’t be certain. I had my eyes closed!

Did anyone witness this slapstick comedy? Unfortunately, yes, there were several witnesses. See today was mowing day at work. There were people everyone mowing, weed-eating, etc. Did they actually see me? Unfortunately, yes. Did they laugh? Unfortunately, hysterically. Was I embarrassed…Unfortunately, I turned beet red, mumbled a litany of cuss words, collected my possessions, and got into my truck.

Blackberry is dead! Thank goodness my Iphone was in my pocket. Whew!

I can’t believe it’s 2pm and I am completely done with my chores!!!!

Wow! I am surprised! Typically, I don’t start chores until around 2pm. LOL!! I got up this morning around 7 am and by 9 am, I had already done 2 loads of laundry, bathed the dogs and cleaned the cat boxes! Not exactly sure why I woke up with so much energy, but I sure ain’t going to question it!

Here are a couple of cards I have done….

Tomorrow it’s back to work. The bossman will be in the office all week. I can already tell you based on some emails I have already gotten over the weekend, it’s gonna be a busy week! At least it will move by quickly!

Have a super duper rest of the day!
