I love getting goodies in the mail….

And boy howdee, I absolutely love what my mommy sent me! I got this beauty in the mail on Thursday! See, I had been collecting yarn for a while with the intent to make an afghan. Well, I never got around to it. My momma made the mistake of showing me some afghans she made for Christmas presents back in November. Light bulb went off in my head. HeeHee. So I packed up all of the yarn and sent it her way. Boy, I am glad I did. Because this beauty is awesome. And as an added surprise, she made a smaller one for Chris’ chair.

Thank you momma! I absolutely love my afghan!! Widdles loves them too!

Chris couldn’t resist taking these shots as I was enjoying my Saturday nap! Thank goodness my hair wasn’t flying all over the place and that only 1/2 of my ugly mug was showing, otherwise, you wouldn’t be seeing these pictures right now!

I did get some cards done. But only a few. It was a very busy weekend doing other things. Friday, we had to take Gracie to the shop to get some work done and then back over to pick her up on Saturday. She got some new tires and the front fender well replaced. She isn’t snaggled toothed anymore! It’s amazing what damage a wire clothes hamper can do when you hit it doing about 70 mph. Who knew!

Happy Humpty Dumpty Day!

We are 1/2 way through the week! WooooHooo! The only sad thing, Matt is going back to Alaska tomorrow.   I really like having my boy back in the house, but I know that he is ready to get back to his world. It will be sad to see him go, but our visit has been really good.  And you know what? I didn’t flash burn him this time. I think I only grabbed the camera once. You can tell that I haven’t scrapbooked in ages, other than stuff for WhatchaMaDoodles.

Ready for more cards? Man, I hope so, cause that’s all I got.

Will it ever warm up?

I am beginning to wonder if we are ever going to see warmer temperatures. I would be happier if the wind would just stop blowing. Thank goodness I don’t wear skirts or dresses to work! Talk about BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Last night we all piled on the couch after dinner and watched a great movie. Have any of you seen “Law Abiding Citizen”? OMG! It was an incredibly fast paced movie. I love Gerard Butler and he was fantastic in this movie. If you haven’t seen it, go check it out. After we watched it we were having a great debate on topics such as the death penalty, vigilantism, revenge, the justice system.

Tonight is Pizza night. Yes, my diet is completely blown for the week. Hell, it’s been blown since last September after my surgery. I am going to have to get back on track very soon. Just not this week!

A day of fun….

Today did nothing but rain, but that didn’t stop us from having a fun day.  First we took off and went to see a movie. We saw The Book of Eli.  It was really good. I like just about any movie Denzel Washington stars in.  Then we headed to Los Cabos for dinner. I had the Fajita Chicken Burrito. It was delicious and I am incredibly stuffed.

In between all of the mini adventures we have had since Matt came in on Thursday, I still made some cards. 16 cards to be exact. I did have Friday evening to myself when the guys went to the Daryl Starbird Car Show.

Popular Hang Out Spot

Apparently, our kitchen seems to be a popular hang out spot. Geez guys, there is really comfy furniture in the living room!

I am seriously shocked the Peanut Butter was able to sneak in behind Chris unnoticed. Honestly, we typically don’t allow the cats to hang out on our kitchen counters.

I am anxiously awaiting….

6:15pm to get here! That is when Matt’s plane lands at Tulsa International Airport! He is going to be here for a week! I am soooooo excited!!!  I am taking the rest of this week off to just hang out with my favorite kid!

Sorry, not much of a post today, I am too excited to keep a coherent thought in my head, let alone try to write a post.  So I will just leave you with some cards I made this past weekend.

Look what Chris got me for Valentine’s Day!!

Aren’t these just the cutest earrings?! He got them from one of my most favorite jewelry designers in the world, Lori Anderson. Her work is beautiful and she has some really fun pieces. I am in love with her Better than Prozac necklace.

It’s a shame I don’t wear necklaces! I would definitely be wearing this one. I am thinking a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a wool jacket with this necklace! Yes, I dress like a geek, but this necklace would definitely take my geeky attire up a notch!

Sorry for my lack of post yesterday. I went to bed at 5pm yesterday evening. I had a very sour tummy all day. It was not pretty.

Happy Valentine’s Day….

We woke up this morning to snow falling. Seriously, SNOW! Fortunately, it didn’t snow very long and it was all melted off within a couple of hours.  Thank goodness.

Chris treated me to my favorite breakfast…..Cinnamon Rolls with cream cheese frosting.  Yummy!

We lounged around the house drinking coffee and surfing the internet. And when I say we, I mean each and every one of us, me, Chris, Daisy, Possum, the Three Stoogettes and Scrappy. Honestly, I think Scrappy thinks that he is a cat. Or he was happy to finally get to steal Possum’s spot on the ottoman.

We did some cleaning. Not fun, but it was needed!

Chris started vacuuming and totally freaked the cats out.

 

…and yes, I realize (after I flattened and saved the picture), that I misspelled vacuum. I seriously wished that Photoshop had spell check in paint brush/pen mode!!! And if you can’t read the red letters, that is Chris’ tookus and not mine. I am not allowed to vacuum.

After cleaning was complete, I did something I very rarely do…

I baked cookies! They are gooey white chocolate chip cookies. Nom Nom Nom!

What I know…..

is that:

1. I hate road construction…but I hate pot holes even more!

2. I am completely over winter 2010!

3. My office is freezing between the hours of 5:30 am and 7:30 am and we can’t figure out why.

4. Cheese It’s, Pretzels and Diet Dr. Pepper is not a healthy lunch.

5. There are too many social networks to choose from.

6.  Mean people suck.

7. I love my husband and son more than anyone or anything in this world.

8. My husband loves me unconditionally, which is a very good thing since I am a hard to deal with most day!

9. Life is too short to beat yourself up over things you can not change.

10. 4 cats and 2 dogs are cheap entertainment

11. You can never say “I love you” too much.

12. Sometimes I just want to eat a bag of a cookie and not think about how many calories or fat grams are in it.

13. 3:30 am is not a really good time to listen to an alarm clock sounding off.

14. The shopping cart on my website is kicking my butt! So some things are going to change on WhatchaMaDoodles.com very soon.

15. I would rather be home with Chris than any other place in this world.

Margie asked me if I have ever thought about doing some instructions for my mini albums. And the answer to that is yes. In fact, I have some things I am planning for my website in the near future and some mini album tutorials is on the list!
